WHAT ARE AKASHIC RECORDS
Akashic records represent the comprehensive documentation of our souls, preserved within the Akasha. This spiritual concept is thought to encompass the entirety of a soul's history, present circumstances, and future possibilities, along with all events, thoughts, and emotions that have transpired. Often likened to an energetic library or a cosmic database, these records are accessible to individuals who possess spiritual sensitivity. Each person has their own unique Akashic Records, which contain vital information regarding their lives—spanning past, present, and future.
The Akashic Records represent a realm of consciousness that holds a vibrational archive of each soul and its experiences. This comprehensive vibrational essence is omnipresent, accessible at any moment and from any location. Consequently, the Records serve as a repository of experiential knowledge, encompassing all thoughts, words, and actions of every soul throughout its lifetime, along with all potential future paths.
Accessing these records can provide insights into the reasons behind specific issues or situations one may be facing, as well as the recurrence of certain patterns in life. They embody the collective knowledge of all existence, serving as a universal filing system that documents every thought, word, and action, thus encapsulating the entirety of human experience and all events that have occurred.
THE ORIGIN
The concept of Akashic Records, as we understand it today, has its roots in Theosophy, a spiritual and religious movement founded in 1875 by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott. Theosophy draws inspiration from Buddhism and Indian philosophy, promoting the interconnectedness of all souls and the ability to seek divine truth through personal enlightenment.
Within Theosophy, the term "Akashic Records" was popularized by Alfred Percy Sinnett in his book "Esoteric Buddhism" (1883). He described them as a kind of cosmic library or archive containing the complete history of humanity and the universe. This concept resonated with the idea of Ākāśa, a Sanskrit term for the fifth element or cosmic ether, which was believed to permeate all things and hold the imprints of all events. While the Akashic Records are often associated with Theosophy, similar concepts can be found in various ancient traditions and philosophies. For example, Hindu philosophy has the concept of Akasha as a subtle, all-pervading substance that carries the vibrations of thoughts and emotions. Some ancient Egyptian and Greek texts also allude to cosmic records or libraries of knowledge.
However, it's important to note that the Akashic Records are not a scientifically proven concept and remain a subject of spiritual and metaphysical exploration. There is no concrete evidence of their existence, and interpretations of them vary widely among different individuals and traditions.
Sadhguru demystifies the fifth element - akasha and explains what akashic records are. He goes on to describe the significance of akasha in mysticism and offers a simple tool to tap into the “akashic mind.”
CHIDAMBARAM TEMPLE
The word Chidambaram may be derived from chit, meaning "consciousness", and ambaram, meaning "sky" (from aakasam or aakayam); it refers to the chidaakasam, the sky of consciousness, which is the ultimate aim one should attain according to all the Vedas and scriptures.Another theory is that it is derived from chit + ambalam. Ambalam means a "stage" for performing arts. The chidakasam is the state of supreme bliss or aananda and Lord Natarajar is the symbolic representation of the supreme bliss or aananda natanam. Saivaites believe that a visit to Chidambaram leads to liberation.Yet another theory is that it is derived from the word chitrambalam, from chithu meaning "play or dances of God" and ambalam meaning "stage"
The small city of Chidambaram, Tamilnadu, is home to an ancient and massive temple complex, at the center of which is the famous site where Śiva, as Naṭarāja, the Lord of the Dance, performs the Cosmic Dance of Bliss, the ānanda tāṇḍava, in the Hall of Consciousness. The temple is specifically associated with akasha (ether, space, or sky), the fifth of the five elements which is known as the medium of sound, and Śiva Naṭarāja is celebrated here with sonorous practices that include the ringing of two large temple bells. The sound piece published here, ‘Space of consciousness (Chidambaram, early morning)’, represents the situatedness of the temple complex within the city, the main shrine at the center of the temple, and finally the immersive sonic and semiotic resonances of the large bells. The accompanying text describes a network of embodied meanings implicated experientially in sound.
The Akashic Realm is a metaphysical concept that refers to a non-physical plane of existence believed to contain the records of all events, thoughts, words, emotions, and intent that have ever occurred, are occurring, or will occur. The Akashic Records are believed to encompass knowledge pertaining to Universal occurrences. Every event that has transpired or is destined to occur within the universe is documented in the Akashic Records. This encompasses historical milestones, personal narratives, and even prospective scenarios. Regarding individual souls, the Akashic Records provide insights into the journey of each soul, detailing past incarnations, lessons to be learned in the present life, and future possibilities. Furthermore, the Akashic Records mirror the collective consciousness of humanity, capturing shared beliefs, values, and cultural trends.
It's often described as a vast library or database of universal knowledge. The concept of the Akashic Realm is central to various spiritual and esoteric traditions, including Theosophy, Anthroposophy, and New Age spirituality. It is believed that trained individuals can access and interpret the Akashic Records through meditation, intuition, and other spiritual practices.
